with strategies to expand the number of
suppliers/vendors within the region for work traditionally contracted outside the
region.

To encourage member organizations
to expand supplier/vendor choices with continued focus on
quality and value resulting in a positive impact on the regional
economy.

To promote and advance
educational, training and networking opportunities that benefit
member organizations.

To assist member organizations to
implement supplier diversity strategies guided by the
Institute
for Supply Management (ISM) principles of social responsibility.

To support member participation
in early stage technology-based opportunities such as federal
Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)
program or patent
licensing.

To substantively support prime
contractor members in their efforts to diversify their
subcontractor utilization on public works and construction
projects, and to hold them accountable for such efforts.

To provide and maintain
efficient, cost-effective communication within member
organizations and between the supplier/vendor community and
member organizations.

To collect,
analyze and provide data and information to member organizations
that will enhance their efforts to advance socially responsible
economic development.
